Eid al-Fitr 2022 is the first of two holidays of the Islamic (lunar) calendar year. It concludes the month of Ramadan, which Muslims celebrate every year to acknowledge God’s revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad.

Eid-ul-Fitr 2022 is celebrated in Pakistan with great religious fervor and general joy. The national holiday falls on the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal, after the holy month of Ramadan which is a long period of fasting, prayer, and devotion. It is one of the most important Islamic festivals.

Although the celebration lasts for three days, normally first day is all about focusing on religious activities at the local mosque or place of prayer. Traditionally, only men go to offer Eid prayers at the Fajr of Eid ul-Fitr.

 

Zakat al-Fitr is a gift that Muslims should give to the poor at this time of year. Everyone cooks special meals at home and invite friends, neighbors, and relatives.

 

There are thousands of gatherings for Eid, but the biggest gatherings are at the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad and the Liaquat Bagh Mosque in Rawalpindi. In addition, Special Speeches by government officials, eid special television and radio programs are normally held by this day. Gifts are usually given to children, but everyone can exchange holiday cards.

 

Eid ul Fitr is a time of celebration, when Muslims gather their friends and family to show gratitude towards God after the previous month of meditation. Eid ul Fitr 2022 holidays are a great reminder for Muslims to be grateful for what they have, and to share with those who may be less fortunate.

 

Charity for the poor is a highly emphasized value in Islam. The Quran says: “Be true to God and His Messenger, and believe in the (essence) that God made you his inheritors.” For those of you who believe and give alms - for them is a great reward.”
