Describe the Transport of Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide in the Blood

Transport of Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide

Transport of oxygen:

Oxygen is transported in two ways:

  1. i) Through plasma only small amount of oxygen is dissolved in hemoglobin.

  1. ii) Through hemoglobin 20 ml oxygen is transported in 100 ml hemoglobin.

Transport of carbon dioxide:

Carbon dioxide is transported by 3 ways:

  1. i) It is transported in the form of bicarbonate ions mostly bonded with water.

  1. ii) Through hemoglobin 25% of carbon dioxide combines with hemoglobin to form carbamino compound.

iii) 6% of carbon dioxide is simply dissolved in the blood.

Note: Many schoolchildren seek to continue their education in a higher educational institution, relying on advice and support from parents and friends who already had university experience. Is it worth devoting this to a few years of life and becoming a student? Pros of the student body. In-depth study of the subject areas necessary for mastering a particular profession. It is impossible to imagine a self-taught doctor or a competent linguist who has learned at home from books. During the training in the university, access to a complex information for an unprepared person opens up and the opportunity to immediately apply the acquired knowledge: workshops, course, summer practices, and, of course, thesis work. Academic community. The university is one of the best places for acquiring useful acquaintances or professional connections. At any department there are teachers who combine the position of research associate with work in a commercial firm, or active research scientists with a strong scientific group. The choice of the supervisor for the diploma solves a lot: with a good combination of circumstances, the proposal to go to graduate school may follow, or the candidate’s candidacy will be recommended to the employer.
