Advantages:
- i) Young plant uses the food resources from parent plant during development.

- iv) The new plant matures more quickly.
- v) A large number of desired varieties of plant are produced in very short time.
Disadvantages:
- i) No new varieties are produced.
- ii) Over crowding causes severe competition for survival among them.
iii) Lack of variety, reduce resistance against diseases and environment.
- iv) Colonization is unlikely. Thus plants are not widely distributed.
