PESCO, or Peshawar Electric Supply Company, is a vital organization responsible for electricity distribution across a significant portion of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Specifically, PESCO Mardan handles the distribution of electricity within Mardan and its adjacent regions. In simple terms, they are the people who ensure that electricity reaches your homes, businesses, and all other establishments. Their role is crucial for our daily lives, powering everything from our lights and fans to our refrigerators and mobile chargers. Understanding their operations can help us better manage our electricity needs and address any concerns that may arise.
This overview will cover various aspects of PESCO Mardan, from their physical location and how to access their services, to the specific offerings they provide. We’ll also touch upon some important highlights and offer practical advice on contacting them. Our goal is to empower you with knowledge, making your interactions with PESCO Mardan more straightforward and productive. So, let’s dive in and explore what PESCO Mardan means for us, the local users in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
For residents of Mardan, knowing the precise location of PESCO Mardan’s office is incredibly helpful for various reasons, whether it’s for bill payments, complaints, or inquiries. The main office for PESCO in Mardan is conveniently situated at Shaheedan Bazar Rd, 52XW+H87, Pakistan Chowk, Mardan Cantt, Mardan Khas, Mardan, 23200, Pakistan. This address places it in a relatively central and accessible part of Mardan, making it reachable for most people within the city and its immediate surroundings.
Navigating to the PESCO Mardan office is generally straightforward. Shaheedan Bazar Road is a well-known artery in Mardan, and Pakistan Chowk is a recognizable landmark. For those using public transport, various local rickshaws andSuzuki vans typically ply routes that pass near or through Pakistan Chowk. If you're coming from further afield within Mardan or the surrounding areas, it's advisable to ask a local for directions to Pakistan Chowk or Shaheedan Bazar Road, as these are common reference points. The "Mardan Cantt" designation further narrows down its location within a specific, often more organized, part of the city. The postcode, 23200, is also useful for mail or for ensuring accurate location identification on digital maps. While Google Maps may show their operating hours, it's always prudent to confirm these by phone, especially given some feedback regarding nighttime availability.
PESCO Mardan provides a range of essential services related to electricity distribution. These services are fundamental to ensuring a consistent and reliable power supply for the local population. Here's a breakdown of the key services they offer:
- Electricity Bill Issuance and Collection: This is perhaps the most common service, as PESCO Mardan is responsible for generating and distributing monthly electricity bills to consumers. They also facilitate the collection of these payments, either directly at their offices or through authorized banks and payment centers.
- New Connection Applications: For new constructions, homes, or businesses requiring an electricity connection, PESCO Mardan processes applications for new meters and connections to the grid. This involves a procedural application process and, eventually, the installation of the necessary infrastructure.
- Maintenance and Repair of Electricity Infrastructure: PESCO Mardan is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the local electricity distribution network, including poles, wires, transformers, and other equipment. This service is crucial for addressing power outages and ensuring the overall stability of the supply.
- Complaint Resolution for Power Outages and Issues: When residents experience power outages, low voltage, or other electricity-related problems, PESCO Mardan’s complaint center is the point of contact for reporting these issues and seeking resolution. They are tasked with dispatching teams to investigate and rectify problems.
- Metering Services: This includes the installation, maintenance, and replacement of electricity meters. If there are issues with meter readings or a meter needs to be changed, PESCO Mardan handles these requests.
- Load Management and Grid Operations: While not directly customer-facing in the same way as bill collection, PESCO Mardan continuously manages the electricity load within their jurisdiction and operates the local grid to ensure equitable distribution and minimize overloads.
- Tariff Information and Adjustments: They also provide information regarding electricity tariffs, government surcharges, and any adjustments to billing rates, helping consumers understand their charges.
PESCO Mardan, as a primary utility provider, has several key features that are important for local users to understand. These highlights define their operational scope and the nature of their service:
- Monopoly on Electricity Distribution: In their designated service area within Mardan and its surroundings, PESCO holds a monopoly on electricity distribution. This means they are the sole provider of grid electricity to consumers in this region.
- Critical Infrastructure Provider: PESCO Mardan manages and maintains essential infrastructure, including power lines, substations, and transformers, which are vital for the economic and social functioning of the region. Without their network, modern life as we know it would be impossible.
- Local Presence and Accessibility: Having a physical office in Mardan Cantt makes PESCO Mardan accessible for direct interactions, such as submitting applications, paying bills, or lodging complaints in person. This local presence is crucial for addressing immediate concerns.
- Extensive Service Area: Their operational reach covers a significant portion of Mardan district, serving a large number of residential, commercial, and industrial consumers.
- 24/7 Service Claims for Emergency Situations: While customer feedback sometimes indicates challenges, PESCO, as a utility, aims to provide round-the-clock services for power-related emergencies and complaints, particularly concerning outages that impact safety and critical services.
As a government-owned utility company, PESCO Mardan typically does not offer commercial promotions or special discounts in the way a private business might. Their pricing and billing are regulated by NEPRA (National Electric Power Regulatory Authority) and the Government of Pakistan. Therefore, you will not find "buy one, get one free" deals or seasonal discounts on electricity.
Any "special offers" from PESCO would typically relate to:
- Government-mandated relief packages: In times of economic hardship or national crises, the government may announce electricity bill relief packages or subsidies that PESCO would then implement. These are not PESCO-initiated promotions but rather directives from higher authorities.
- New connection incentives (rare): Very occasionally, there might be schemes to encourage new connections in underdeveloped areas, but these are exceptions and usually driven by broader government development goals.
- Public awareness campaigns: PESCO might run campaigns to promote energy conservation, prompt bill payments, or safety awareness, but these are informative rather than promotional in a commercial sense.
It’s important for consumers to stay updated on official announcements from NEPRA and the Government of Pakistan regarding any changes to tariffs or support programs, as these directly impact your electricity bills. Information about these can often be found on PESCO's official website (if available) or through public notices in local newspapers.
Connecting with PESCO Mardan is essential for resolving issues, paying bills, or making inquiries. Here’s the contact information you can use:
- Address: Shaheedan Bazar Rd, 52XW+H87, Pakistan Chowk, Mardan Cantt, Mardan Khas, Mardan, 23200, Pakistan
- Phone: (0937) 9230177
- Mobile Phone: +92 937 9230177
It’s important to note the customer feedback regarding phone accessibility. While the numbers are provided, some users have reported difficulties reaching PESCO officials, particularly outside of regular working hours or during power outages. It is always advisable to try both the landline and mobile numbers. If phone contact proves difficult, visiting the office in person during working hours might be a necessary alternative for urgent matters. When calling, have your consumer number or bill details ready, as this will help the PESCO representative assist you more efficiently.
For the residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, specifically in and around Mardan, PESCO Mardan is not just a utility company; it is an indispensable part of our daily lives. Despite the challenges that any large public utility might face, PESCO Mardan remains the sole and primary provider of electricity, a fundamental requirement for homes, businesses, and public services. Its local presence in Mardan Cantt ensures that there is a physical point of contact for resolving issues, applying for new connections, and managing electricity bills.
The fact that PESCO Mardan manages and maintains the entire electricity distribution network in our area means that they are the first and only recourse for power outages, voltage fluctuations, and other supply-related problems. While customer service experiences can vary, the existence of a dedicated local office and contact numbers provides a framework for addressing consumer needs, even if improvements are consistently needed and desired by the community. Without PESCO Mardan, the power supply to our region would simply cease, bringing daily life to a standstill.
Therefore, understanding how PESCO Mardan operates, knowing their location, and having their contact information is crucial for every local resident. It empowers us to navigate the system more effectively, report issues, and ensure that our essential electricity needs are met. As consumers, our constructive feedback and persistent engagement with PESCO Mardan can also contribute to the ongoing improvement of their services, ultimately benefiting the entire community of Mardan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They are our local power provider, and their role in keeping our lights on is undeniable.

When you open google Map, it says the office is open during night nut no one picksup the phone. Infact, all the linemen have turned off their cell phones. Please dont disturb. When you call their so called complaint center, the guy simply says, nothing could be done. This is what Pesco Mardan is all about.
