KICSIT New Building Introduce
For aspiring students and their families across Punjab, the pursuit of higher education is a significant milestone, a gateway to professional growth and a brighter future. Choosing the right university, one that offers quality programs and a conducive learning environment, is a decision that requires careful consideration. In Rawalpindi, a prominent institution catering to these aspirations is the KICSIT New Building, which serves as a sub-campus of the renowned Institute of Space Technology (IST).
KICSIT New Building, officially known as Dr. A. Q. Khan Institute of Computer Sciences and Information Technology (KICSIT), has a history rooted in providing technical and computer science education. It was inaugurated in November 2000 by Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan himself, the founder and then Chairman of KRL. Over the years, it has evolved, adapting its affiliations to best serve its students. Currently, it operates as a sub-campus of IST, an esteemed public university in Islamabad known for its focus on space science, engineering, and technology. This affiliation with IST brings a degree of academic oversight and recognition that is vital for students pursuing higher studies in technical fields.
The university aims to offer quality education at an accessible cost, catering to a diverse group of national and international students. Its academic programs emphasize rigorous scientific and theoretical foundations, with the goal of producing professionals who possess a thorough understanding of fundamental concepts and the capability to apply this knowledge in research, analysis, and design. For students in Rawalpindi and the wider Punjab region looking for opportunities in engineering and computer sciences, KICSIT New Building presents itself as an option worth exploring for its specialized programs and connection to a well-regarded institution like IST.
The KICSIT New Building is located at J922+47P, Kahuta Rd, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. This address places it along Kahuta Road, a well-known artery in Rawalpindi, which aids in its accessibility for students commuting from various parts of the city and its surrounding areas. For local residents in Rawalpindi and those traveling from nearby towns in Punjab, navigating to the campus is relatively straightforward due to the established road network.
Rawalpindi's public transport system, including local buses, rickshaws, and ride-hailing services, provides various options for students to reach the campus. While the specific proximity to bus stops might vary, being on a main road generally ensures connectivity. Students living further afield in Punjab, who might consider relocating to Rawalpindi for their studies, would find the campus's location within the city convenient for accessing local amenities and housing options, even if the university itself does not provide its own hostel facilities.
The location along Kahuta Road also places the university within a broader area that is relatively peaceful and secure, which can be an important consideration for students and their families. This setting, while being connected to the city, offers a more focused environment for academic pursuits away from the immediate hustle and bustle of the city center. For individuals considering higher education in Rawalpindi, the address of KICSIT New Building is a known landmark, making it easier for new students to orient themselves and integrate into the university routine.

As an educational institution, particularly one with a public sector affiliation like KICSIT New Building (sub-campus of IST), direct "promotions" or "special offers" in the commercial sense are not typically advertised. However, the inherent structure and policies often present significant advantages and affordability factors that serve as a continuous benefit to students and their families in Punjab. These can be considered the 'promotional aspects' of choosing such an institution:
- Competitive Fee Structure: Universities affiliated with public sector bodies generally maintain a more affordable fee structure compared to purely private universities. While specific fees vary by program and are subject to change, the overall cost of education at KICSIT is designed to be more accessible, alleviating significant financial burden on students and their families. This is a continuous 'offer' of affordability.
- Scholarships and Financial Aid Opportunities: Students at institutions like KICSIT, being a part of IST, may be eligible for various scholarships and financial aid programs. These can be government-sponsored initiatives, merit-based scholarships for high-achieving students, or need-based assistance. Information on such opportunities is usually available through the admissions or financial aid offices of IST.
- Accessibility to Quality Education: The institution strives to provide quality education in specialized fields like computer science and engineering, accredited by national bodies like PEC and NCEAC, at a relatively more accessible price point than many independent private universities. This makes quality higher education a viable option for a wider range of students in Punjab.
- Subsidized Transport: As mentioned in the services, the availability of subsidized transport from multiple routes in Rawalpindi and Islamabad serves as a practical financial relief for commuting students, reducing their daily expenses significantly.
- Career Services Support (Implied): While not explicitly detailed, institutions of this nature often have informal or formal career counseling and placement support, aiding students in their transition from academia to the professional world. This 'service' helps students leverage their degrees into employment opportunities.
Prospective students are always encouraged to directly contact the university's admission office or visit the campus to obtain the most current and accurate information regarding fee structures, payment plans, and any specific financial assistance programs that might be available to them.

Its suitability stems from several key factors that align with the aspirations and practical needs of students and families in our community.
Firstly, the institution's affiliation with IST provides a strong academic backing and recognition. For local students, this means their degrees carry the weight and prestige associated with a well-regarded national university, which can be crucial for future employment prospects both within Pakistan and internationally. This connection ensures a certain level of academic quality and curriculum adherence to broader educational standards.
Secondly, the focus on specialized technical disciplines, such as Computer Science and Computer Engineering, directly caters to the growing demand for skilled professionals in the technology sector. In an evolving global landscape, having a degree from an accredited program in these fields equips students with relevant and in-demand skills, enhancing their employability. The presence of well-equipped labs further ensures that students gain practical, hands-on experience, which is vital for these applied sciences.
Thirdly, the campus's location on Kahuta Road in Rawalpindi offers good accessibility for students commuting from various parts of the city and nearby towns. The availability of subsidized transport facilities is a significant advantage, reducing daily commuting challenges and costs, making higher education more feasible for a wider range of students from different economic backgrounds in the region.
Moreover, while direct "promotions" in a commercial sense are not the norm, the inherent affordability of a publicly affiliated institution, coupled with potential scholarship and financial aid opportunities through IST, makes quality higher education more attainable. This focus on accessibility without compromising on academic standards is a key draw for many local families who prioritize both quality and financial feasibility.
In essence, KICSIT New Building provides a focused, accredited, and accessible pathway to higher education in critical technical fields. For local students in Punjab, especially those with an interest in computer science and engineering, it offers a practical and valuable option to secure a recognized degree, build essential skills, and embark on promising career paths, all within a familiar regional context.

If you are too serious about your future then don't take admission in this so called Daba 📦 university . They don't have there own recognition. They beg infront of other universities to give affiliation. They were with Gomal University then UET Taxila and now with IST. When things go against with there partner university they switch it. Teachers don't have much experience. Most of them are new. Sometimes there are biased. Favouritism is very high specially with girls. I know a guy who was a Clark there. The next day he became a teacher. Just because they don't have many teachers it doesn't mean anyone can be a teacher. Even they don't have there own hostel. They are using a college hostel to facilitate there students. Students have to compromise with there privacy and health. Unpleasant, dirty kitchen and washroom. And guess what they also beg infort of college faculty to allow there students to live in there hostel. They beg to get KIT hostel too. True beggers! They are giving CS degree but you will not get an internet connection in hostel. No internet, no wifi and no mobile signals at all. I did my graduation here and now I am regretting on my decision and I will for my whole life. If you have admission in other universtiy like iqra university, muslim youth university just go there and dont ever ever think about taking admission in this jungle khana...
