Ozymandias Poem Summary

The poet meets a traveler from an olden country. The traveler tells him that he saw tow huge, trunk less legs made of stone in the desert. Near these legs there he also saw the broken body of a man half sunk in the sand.

The features of the dead face tell that he was very proud and contemptuous of others. The sculptor has artistically recreated these impressions in the face of stone. One could feel that he must be proud and heartless in his life. At the bottom of the column it was inscribed,

“ My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings: Look on my works, ye mighty and despair!”

There remained nothing in the desert except the broken statue.

Note: There are obvious disadvantages of Distance education like Lack of full-time communication between students and the teacher. That is, all the points related to the individual approach and upbringing are excluded. And when there is not a person around who can emotionally color knowledge, this is a significant disadvantage. The need for a number of individual psychological conditions. For distance learning, a rigid self-discipline is necessary, and its result directly depends on the student’s independence and consciousness. The need for constant access to information sources. We need good technical equipment, but not everyone who wants to learn has a computer and access to the Internet. As a rule, students feel a lack of practical training. Training programs and courses may not be developed well enough due to the fact that there are not so many qualified specialists who can create such teaching aids. In distance education the basis of training is only written. For some, the lack of the opportunity to present their knowledge also in verbal form can turn into a stumbling block.
