What is Data Dictionary?

A data dictionary, or metadata repository, as defined in the IBM Dictionary of Computing, is a “centralized repository of information about data such as meaning, relationships to other data, origin, usage, and format”. Oracle defines it as a collection of tables with metadata.



Read the title and study the front and back covers of the book
This advice seems obvious, but many people ignore it and jump straight to the content. But everyone knows that the author always attaches great importance to the title and design of the cover, often investing in them the main meaning (or a hint at it) of the entire book. If you manage to guess this message, then a lot will become clear even before the first lines of the text.

Pay close attention to the first few pages
The Table of Contents, Foreword, Prologue are incredibly useful pages that will give you an idea of the entire book, even if it’s a multi-page scholarly work.
