A process of studying the existing system is known as analysis. The analysis also determines what should take place in the new system. It is very important activity for the development of database system. The person responsible for the requirement analysis is called “Analyst”
But now, thanks to mathematical calculations and computers of the level of CERN laboratories, it turned out that there are probably only six basic plots. Matthew Jokers is a professor of English literature at the University of Nebraska who works in digital humanities research, using databases and computer analysis to study huge volumes of literary texts that are not readable by one person.
Jokers created a model that abstracts each story, analyzing and comparing the change in emotion over the course of the plot, and displaying the result as a visual graph.
Using comparative measurements in multiple clusters within one piece, Jokers identified only six basic plots. Only in 10% of all cases the machine indicated the existence of seven plots simultaneously. The Jokers sample included approximately 50,000 novels. Jokers created a model that abstracts each story, analyzing and comparing the change in emotion over the course of the plot, and displaying the result as a visual graph. The system evaluates different paragraphs of the text using a dictionary of signs of negative and positive feelings. Jokers is not yet ready to name his six meta-plots and invites everyone to do it – he recently posted all the programs he uses on GitHub, so any Internet user can try to create graphs of literary narratives at home.
