There were excellent librarians who like books and like it when they are read. They did not have a snobbery with respect to what I read. But libraries are freedom. Freedom of reading, freedom of exchange of ideas, freedom of communication, freedom of access to information. And I’m worried that in the 21st century people do not understand what libraries are.
